Saint Gregorios of parumala is popularly known as Parumala Thirumeni.Metropolitan Geevarghese Mar Gregorios of the Malankara Orthodox Church who passed away on November 2nd 1902, became the first declared saint from Malankara (Kerala, India) naturally to be called, ‘Parumala Thirumeni’. He shines in the cloud of witnesses as a bright luminary giving rays of hope to millions in their suffering and struggles.Mar Gregorios was born on 15th June 1848 (M.E. Mithunam 3, 1023) to Kochu Mathai and Mariam of Pallathetta family in the Chathuruthy house at Mulamthuruthy.

ഏഷ്യാനെറ്റ് ചാനലില്‍ സംപ്രേഷണം ചെയ്യുന്ന കടമറ്റത്ത് കത്തനാര്‍ എന്ന ജനപ്രിയ പരമ്പര ചരിത്രത്തെ ദുര്വ്യാനഖ്യാനം ചെയ്യുന്നതും, മലങ്കര നസ്രാണികളുടെ സംസ്ക്കാരത്തേയും സ്വത്വത്തെയും ഹനിക്കുന്നതുമാണ്. നാട്ടു ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികളുടെ ചരിത്രത്തെ ഇല്ലായ്മ ചെയ്യുവാനുള്ള ഗൂഢപദ്ധതിയുടെ ഭാഗമാണ് ഈ പരമ്പരയിലെ കത്തനാരുടെ വേഷമാറ്റം എന്ന് സംശയിക്കേണ്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു. കൊട്ടാരത്തില്‍ ശങ്കുണ്ണിയുടെ ഐതിഹ്യമാലയിലെ ഒരു കഥാപാത്രമെന്നതിലുപരിയായി കടമറ്റത്ത് കത്തനാര്‍ ഒരു ചരിത്രപുരുഷനാണ്. മന്ത്രവാദം ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു ക്രൈസ്തവ കത്തനാരെക്കുറിച്ച് കേരളത്തിലുടനീളം പരന്നിരുന്ന ചില പൊടിപ്പും തൊങ്ങലുമുള്ള കഥകള്‍ കൊട്ടാരത്തില്‍ ശങ്കുണ്ണി ഐതിഹ്യമാലയില്‍ സമാഹരിക്കുകയാണുണ്ടായത്. എന്നാല്‍ കടമറ്റത്തു കത്തനാരെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഗവേഷണപഠന പ്രകാരം കത്തനാര്‍ ഒരു വ്യക്തിയല്ല, ഒരു പരമ്പരയാണ്. മലയാള ഭാഷയിലെ ആദ്യ ചരിത്രഗ്രന്ഥമായ നിരണം ഗ്രന്ഥവരിയിലാണ് കടമറ്റം കത്തനാരന്മാരുടെ പരമ്പരയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള രേഖകള്‍ കാണുന്നത്. എ.ഡി. 905-ല്‍ കേരളത്തിലെത്തിയ മാര്‍ ആബോ (മാര്‍ ആവാന്‍) എന്ന പേര്ഷ്യ ന്‍ മെത്രാനില്‍ നിന്നും കടമറ്റം ആറ്റുപിറത്ത് കുടുംബത്തിലെ ഒരു കത്തനാര

Koonan Kurishu Satyam                        The Koonan Kurish Oath (Leaning Cross Oath) of 1653 is the first recorded mass revolt against the Western colonialism in history. CHAPTER 1. PRIESTHOOD IN THE EARLY CHURCH The Acts of the Apostles and the Epistles document the fact that priestly ministry in the early Christian Church consisted of Apostles, Prophets, Presbyters, Evangelists, Deacons etc. Chief among these hierarchs were the Apostles themselves. They were "called" to the ministry by the Lord (Mark 3:13) and they were the foundations of the Church.
